Background and Interest in Governance

I am a commercial chancery barrister working in London, although I live in Brighton and have done for a number of years. Through my job, I have a strong understanding of company and governance, regulatory compliance and accounting. I sit on a number of my Chambers’ committees, including for education and training and ED&I.
I wanted to become a Governor because I believe passionately that education can provide opportunities for all children and that every child deserves a good school in which they feel safe, happy and able to achieve their best.

Hobbies and interests

I love reading and creative writing. I enjoy almost all forms of exercise and love a good walk along Brighton seafront, the South Downs – or further afield. I am fortunate to be able to travel abroad and do whenever I have the opportunity. As an adult I have taken up Spanish and the piano – proving that learning can start at any age!
