Year 6 visited Take Shelter as part of our WW2 topic. When we got there, we spilt into groups. We got to dress up in WW2 Airforce and army costumes and have our photos taken, we learnt about found rationing, looked at all of the different gas masks that were created at that time and looked at where was bombed in Brighton.
Our most favourite part of the trip was going down into an actual WW2 shelter! We saw replicas of what an Anderson Shelter would have looked like, what toilets were like and small kitchens.
Near the end of the WW2 shelter experience, we got to take part in a bomb simulation where a warning siren was alarmed and it sounded like a bomb was being dropped from a plane and our chairs shook. We loved it!
